Backstage – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid

A Photo Story By Felix Estrada

When I think of fashion, I think of style, trends, attitude, beauty, elegance, and fantasy. I also think of power, status, money, and elitism. In fashion, you gotta be cool. That’s why for me it was so interesting to go backstage and take pictures at Mercedes-Benz Madrid Fashion Week. At every fashion show I’ve been to, while all the models are cool on the runaway, and everyone is trying to be cool in the audience, backstage is the exact opposite. Everyone is rushing around, trying to make everything perfect, and no one is more stressed out than the models. IT’S AN  INTERESTING AND CURIOUS CONTRAST. I shot these photos backstage last year in Madrid. The models were running to the dressing room to change, so they could go back out on the runway with a different look.
