Three-time Olympic gold medalist and a four-time world champion withdrew from the final games in order to focus on her mental health. Biles, after withdrawing from the women’s gymnastics team finals, said in a statement: “at the end of the day, we’re human too and we have to protect our mind and our body, rather than just go out there and do what the world wants us to do.” This is coming not long after another top tennis athlete Naomi Osaka also withdrew from the French Open to focus on her mental health.
